There was a long queue so I was expecting this place to be good. I ordered the rice cakes for 12€ and this is all that came with it. So little, barely filling. Rice cakes w a few pieces of onion and carrot. Not worth 12€ at all. This pic was taken before I had even started eating. The picture on the menu showed much more than this. Very disappointed by the deception.
Small and typical Mom & Pop restaurant serving typical simple Korean dishes. A middle aged couple working in the kitchen and I presume their daughter as server.
Service was friendly and fast.
I ordered kimbab (€9), teokbokki (€12) and pork bulgogi (€15).
My advice would be to serve the teokbokki and bulgogi on smaller plates, the quantities were passable but might look small on the first look.
The teokbokki had a classic sweet and mildly spicy taste and a lot of sauce.
But for this price some fish cake should definitely be added and a sprinkle of green/spring onion would make it look much prettier/tastier.
The bulgogi had a nice char and I could taste the smokey-ness.
Kimbab with beef was also simple and went good by dipping it in the deokbokki sauce. Probably the most fairly priced dish of the three.
I saw some tables having the kimchi pancake. It looked really savory and tasty. I'm pretty sure this is the best bang for your buck item on their menu.
On future visits I'd order pancakes/jjampong/kimbab/ramyun/bibimbab. These seem the best price-quantity wise.
It's a small place just outside of the busy marketplace area near Markthal in Rotterdam. Nice authentic flavors and friendly staff. Love the chap chae, the Korean rolls and dumplings! Will definitely be coming back to try other stuff on the menu!
Warm, welcoming place with great food. Love their pancake and the glass noodles.
What a hidden gem! 🤩 Definitely taste wise the most authentic Korean restaurant I’ve tried in Rotterdam. It’s in a place where it blends in with the other restaurants, and it doesn’t look fancy or anything from the outside, I’m glad we noticed it! The prices are reasonable, and all the food we tried (salmon bibimbap, tteokbokki, tuna kimbap and not in the pictures but bulgogi) tasted amazing. Will definitely come back here again and definitely recommend!
A small Mom-and-Pop restaurant which just shouts AUTHENTIC! The kitchen is very streamlined, which is connected to the limited selection of meals. Though thanks to that, the food comes out quite fast and so far all the items we tried were rather good.
The prices are ok, given its location and the staff is nice.
Five years ago I have been here three times. Two weeks ago I try again and the taste can be maintained as before. I try tteokbokki, chap chae and kimchi jeon. tteokbokki is nice but the portion is smaller. Kimchi jeon is tasty and give me surprise. Chap chae is always tasty. Highly recommend.
Really tasty Korean food! The Man Du is next level delicious! The Bokkum Kuksu and Chap chae are oh so flavorful. And the Kimchi jeon is also really good.
Gamasot is a small and local business, with really kind and polite staff. The food is so flavorful and authentic Korean.
A must-visit if you are in Rotterdam and looking for good Korean food!
